I've managed to get a stable group (well, Uncle has a child due any minute so we'll see!) together for weekly games. It's perhaps easy to dismiss playing cards with so many other games on the market but across these games I got a real appreciation of the depth of strategy that can be found in Rummy, loved it. I don't even know the name of the version of Rummy we play but we do the scoring where 2-9s are worth 5 points and 10,J,Q,K are 10 points, Aces are 15 points and cards left in hand at the end are deducted from your score. Between long walks and daily BBQs we managed a lot of games of Rummy. We rented an "eco-pod" in Glastonbury this year and took the dog. It's so interesting playing this game with someone you know really well, our mind meld is strong but we didn't win every time, sometimes the board layouts are really difficult.ĭespite owning many a game I still get a lot of value out of a simple deck of cards - especially on holidays. When I was on holiday I also played a bunch of Duet with my wife. It was exciting to see this game "click" for people one of the women we played with added this to her buy list immediately after the first game! We had a lot of "2" clues but there were a few risky and inventive 3s and 4s as well across the games. First at a Meet Up where we played 6 players with 3 new players. Codenames was played across 3-4 sessions.
